Programs
The Angel on My Shoulder Scholarship Fund was established in 2019 to support college-bound students with tuition assistance following the loss of a parent. The grant is provided to high school seniors in South Florida who excel academically and plan to enroll in a full-time college program. The purpose of the fund is to offset some of the financial hardship of college costs to enable well-deserving students to take advantage of the academic opportunity the student wishes to pursue in light of emotional and financial challenges.
The scholarship provides an annual grant for 4-5 years to an applicant that meets the following criteria:
-
Strong character, as showcased in the applicant’s personal essay and letters of recommendation
-
Academic excellence, as exhibited by the applicant’s GPA and high school grades
-
Documented college offer and acceptance
-
Maintenance of an overall GPA of 3.0 for the duration of the college enrollment
