Beating Cancer is in Their Blood: Meet the 2019 Man & Woman of the Year Candidates

Each year, in communities across the country, dedicated candidates engage in an exciting competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)’s “Man & Woman of the Year” titles. Raising funds for LLS blood cancer research, the candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year.

The Blue Lagoon Foundation proudly recognizes Mr. Eric Grossman, winner of "Man of the Year" award at the 2019 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society National Capital Area Man and Woman of the Year Event. The event was held June 1, 2019 at The Anthem in Washington, DC.

Our Executive Director, Jennifer Foote, participated in the event, recognizing all the candidates who personally raised more than $50,000 in the 10-week campaign. Mr. Grossman, our personally sponsored candidate, raised more than $500,000 to support the total campaign amount of nearly $2.8M, earning him the award.
