Cherie Whitney Andres
Treasurer and Board Member
Cherie currently serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Blue Lagoon Foundation. She is an accomplished financial and operational professional with over 18 years of experience in the Technology sector serving as a corporate executive at both Virtustream and EMC.
Most recently, Cherie served as Vice President of Strategy and Business Operations at Virtustream, a public cloud services company. In this capacity, she was responsible for identifying and executing strategic initiatives to grow and transform the business. As an advocate of community service in corporate culture, Cherie developed and launched the Corporate Social Responsibility program for Virtustream, which was primarily focused on improving the lives of children in communities served by Virtustream in multiple markets all over the world.
As Vice President of Corporate Development at EMC, Cherie managed the execution of acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and integration. She facilitated over $11 billion in software, hardware and other technology acquisitions and supported the integration into Dell as part of the largest technology merger in history. Cherie also has previous experience working in EMC’s Marketing division.
Cherie holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Bentley University, as well as a Master’s degree in Communication, Culture and Economics from Georgetown University. She is active in women’s advocacy programs in business and children’s programs around health and education.
